10 Bourbon Bottles We Would and HAVE Bought Again

We've tried a lot of bourbon. These are the bottles we'd actually spend our money on again.
There are plenty of bourbons that are fun to try once. Some are memorable, some are worth reviewing, and some are bottles we're glad we experienced — but that doesn't necessarily mean we'd buy another one.
Then there are the bottles that leave you thinking: "I'd absolutely buy that again."
For this list, we're focusing on bourbon bottles we've personally tried and would genuinely purchase again. These aren't simply the bottles with the biggest names or the most hype behind them.
Some are everyday pours. Some are bottles we'd save for a special occasion. And some are bottles we'd grab immediately if we found them at a good price.
From Blanton's and Eagle Rare to Weller 107, E.H. Taylor and Russell's Reserve, these are 10 bourbon bottles we would — and HAVE — bought again.

What Makes a Bourbon Worth Buying Again?
For us, a bourbon has to offer more than just a good first impression.
When deciding whether we'd buy a bottle again, we consider:
Taste: Do we genuinely enjoy drinking it?
Value: Is the bourbon worth the price?
Drinkability: Is it something we'd happily pour again?
Character: Does it have something memorable about it?
Repeat appeal: After trying other bourbons, would we still want another bottle?
We also don't believe that more expensive automatically means better.
A bourbon doesn't need to be rare, allocated or expensive to earn another spot on our shelf.
Sometimes the bottles we reach for most are the ones that simply deliver a great pour every time.

1. Blanton's Single Barrel
Our Rating: 88/100

We know — Blanton’s is hyped up and talked about endlessly. But honestly, at the right price, we think it deserves to make this list.
We pretty much never don’t have a bottle of Blanton’s on hand. In fact, we probably have five bottles sitting on the shelf right now, along with a few special reserves. That probably tells you a lot about how we feel about it.
It’s one of those bottles that our whole team enjoys. It’s a great pour when we want something familiar and enjoyable, but it’s also one we’re happy to open when guests who are newer to bourbon come over. The combination of caramel, vanilla, oak and baking spice makes it an easy bottle to enjoy without feeling too simple.
There’s no getting around the fact that Blanton’s is expensive, especially in Canada. But when we can find it around $110 CAD, it’s one of the bottles where we can justify spending a little more. We know it’s going to get opened, shared and enjoyed.
For us, Blanton’s makes this list because it isn’t just a bottle we bought once because of the hype. We actually keep buying it. That’s exactly what this list is about.
Rating: 88/100
Would We Buy It Again? Absolutely.

2. Kentucky Series 8 Year
Our Rating: 90/100

We absolutely love this bottle. A few members of our team were in Kentucky and were introduced to the Kentucky Series 8 Year by a great guy at a local liquor store. After trying it, they liked it enough that they knew they had to bring a bottle home for the rest of us to try.
And we’re very glad they did.
We’ve tried a lot of bourbon, but this is one of those bottles that has stayed near the top of our list and is one we never forget about. It’s also a great reminder that you don’t need an incredibly high-proof bourbon to get big, memorable flavour.
Unfortunately, being in Canada makes this one a tough bottle for us to replace. We haven’t been able to get our hands on a second bottle yet, but we’re always keeping an eye out. As soon as we find another one, we’ll absolutely be picking it up.
That’s exactly why it belongs on this list. It’s not just a bottle we enjoyed — it’s a bottle we genuinely wish we had another one of.
Rating: 90/100
Would We Buy It Again? 100%.
3. Eagle Rare 10 Year
Our Rating: 88/100

Eagle Rare is one of those bottles that’s an easy pickup for us when we find it around MSRP. It’s not necessarily the craziest bottle on our shelf, but it’s incredibly well known in the bourbon community and has a flavour profile that seems to appeal to just about everyone.
We pretty much always keep a backup bottle of Eagle Rare around, and honestly, we can’t see a time when it wouldn’t have a spot on our shelf. Whenever we find it at a good price, we pick it up because we already know it’s going to get drank.
We also only recently bought our first bottle of Eagle Rare in Canada, so it’s nice to see it becoming a little more accessible for us. After trying plenty of different bourbons, this is still one we’re always happy to have around.
For us, Eagle Rare isn’t about chasing something rare or crazy. It’s simply a great bottle that consistently gets opened, which is exactly what earns it a spot on this list.
Rating: 88/100
Would We Buy It Again? Absolutely.

4. Weller Special Reserve
Our Rating: 83/100

Weller Special Reserve is one of the bottles that takes us right back to when we first got into bourbon. It was one of the first bottles we ever had, and it’s still one we regularly come back to.
For the price, we think it offers really solid value in Canada. At around $64 CAD — and often on sale — it’s an easy bottle for us to recommend and an even easier one to pick up.
It’s also incredibly reliable. Pretty much everyone we’ve offered it to seems to enjoy it, whether they’re just getting into bourbon or already have plenty of bottles on their shelf.
We currently have five or more bottles of Weller Special Reserve on hand, and we’re always grabbing another when it goes on sale because we already know it’s going to get drank.
It’s not the most complicated bourbon we have, and it doesn’t need to be. It’s simple, reliable and effective. It’s a pour we know well, enjoy regularly and will happily keep stocked on the shelf.
Rating: 83/100
Would We Buy It Again? Absolutely.

5. Evan Williams Single Barrel
Our Rating: 80/100

We have a few bottles of Evan Williams Single Barrel on our shelf, and it’s one we really enjoy having around. One of the reasons we like this bottle so much is that it gives us a solid, less expensive bourbon to compare against some of the higher-priced bottles we try.
When we’re spending significantly more on a bourbon, we want to know if it’s actually delivering enough to justify that higher price tag. Having a bottle like Evan Williams Single Barrel around makes those comparisons a lot easier.
It’s a solid pour, offers great value and consistently delivers without needing a huge price tag attached to it. It’s also another example of why we’ve always been fans of the Evan Williams lineup as a whole.
For us, this bottle isn’t about being the most exciting or expensive bourbon on the shelf. It’s about getting a really good pour for your money, and Evan Williams continues to do that well.
Rating: 80/100
Would We Buy It Again? Absolutely.
6. E.H. Taylor Small Batch
Our Rating: 90/100

E.H. Taylor Small Batch is a special bottle for our team. It’s one of those bourbons that we’ll always remember, and it’s a bottle I’ll always appreciate sitting down and sipping.
This was one of the bottles that really showed us just how good bourbon can get. There’s something about the overall experience that makes it feel like a real treat every time we get to pour it.
It does come with a premium price tag, but when we find it at the right price, we think it’s worth the spend. We also never like letting our supply get too low. When it does, it usually means it’s time for a trip to Buffalo Trace Distillery to pick one up at MSRP.
This remains one of our favourite pours, and we’re always happy to have a bottle on the shelf. We’re also hoping to get our hands on more of the E.H. Taylor lineup sometime soon because this bottle left us wanting to try more.
It’s a special bourbon, and one that’s always a treat to enjoy.
Rating: 90/100
Would We Buy It Again? Absolutely.
7. Russell's Reserve
Our Rating: 86/100

Russell’s Reserve is another bottle we’ve really come to enjoy. We originally picked this one up during a trip to New York State, and it made the cut when we brought bottles back to Canada again.
It’s a fairly priced bourbon and a really solid pour. For a 10-year-old bourbon, we think the price is especially fair, giving you a lot of age and quality without having to spend a fortune.
It’s also one of those bottles that seems to disappear pretty quickly in our household. We pour it, enjoy it, and before we know it, we’re looking at the bottle wondering where it all went.
That’s usually a pretty good sign for us. It’s a bottle we continue to enjoy and one we’d happily pick up again when we get the chance.
Rating: 86/100
Would We Buy It Again? Absolutely.

8. 1792 Bottled in Bond
Our Rating: 84/100

1792 Bottled in Bond is a bottle that really stood out to us. We haven’t purchased a second bottle yet, but we’re definitely keeping an eye out for it at the right price.
So far, we’ve tried 1792 Small Batch, 1792 12 Year and 1792 Bottled in Bond, and honestly, any of them could have made this list. We really enjoy the 1792 lineup and think the bottles are generally reasonably priced for what you’re getting.
1792 Small Batch was also one of the bottles we had early in our bourbon journey, so it’s been pretty cool to keep exploring more expressions from the lineup as our collection has grown. We almost always have several 1792 bottles on the shelf, regardless of which expression they are.
The Bottled in Bond is a great pour with a flavour profile that really stood out to us. It felt a little different from some of the other bottles we regularly drink, which made it even more memorable.
We’re definitely looking forward to exploring more of the 1792 lineup, and if we find another Bottled in Bond at the right price, we’ll be picking it up again.
Rating: 84/100
Would We Buy It Again? Absolutely.
9. Weller Antique 107
Our Rating: 92/100

Weller 107 is one of our most flavourful pours to date, and personally, I love a little extra spice in my bourbon. This is one of those bottles that really stands out to us every time we pour it.
We got incredibly lucky finding this bottle close to MSRP at the LCBO before the tariff situation, and we’ve been savouring every pour ever since. At this point, it has become one of those bottles we save for special occasions because we know how difficult it can be to replace.
We absolutely love this bourbon and honestly can’t wait until we have another bottle on the shelf. We’re looking forward to the day when we can pour a glass without worrying about how much is left.
Until then, we’ll keep enjoying every last drop.
Rating: 92/100
Would We Buy It Again? 100%.

10. Four Roses Small Batch
Our Rating: 80/100

Four Roses Small Batch is a bottle we waited a long time to get our hands on. We’ve never really seen it available to us in Canada, so it was one we had on our list to try whenever we made it across the border.
Once we got to the States, we tried a few different Four Roses expressions and ended up bringing a second bottle of Small Batch home with us.
We thought it was very reasonably priced and a great pour, which made the decision to bring another one back pretty easy. It’s the kind of bottle that gives us exactly what we’re looking for without needing to spend a fortune.
At this point, I’m pretty confident that the next time we make a trip to the States, a bottle of Four Roses will be making its way back across the border with us again.
Rating: 80/100
Would We Buy It Again? Absolutely.
Best Value Bourbons on This List
Not every bourbon needs a premium price tag to be worth buying again. In fact, value is one of the biggest things we look at when deciding which bottles deserve a place on our shelf.
Weller Special Reserve is a great example for us. At around $64 CAD and often available on sale, it’s an easy bottle to keep stocked. Evan Williams Single Barrel is another favourite when we want a solid bourbon at a lower price point, especially when we’re comparing it against more expensive bottles.
Russell’s Reserve 10 Year also stands out because you’re getting a well-aged bourbon that we think is fairly priced for what’s in the bottle.
For us, the best value bourbon isn’t necessarily the cheapest bottle. It’s the bottle that gives us enough enjoyment to justify what we paid for it.
Bourbons We’d Pay More For
There are some bourbon bottles where we simply have a harder time justifying the price.
Then there are bottles where we’re willing to spend more because we already know we love what’s in the bottle.
Blanton’s falls into that category for us. We wouldn’t pay any price simply because of the name, but around $110 CAD is a price we can justify because we know it will get opened.
E.H. Taylor Small Batch and Weller 107 are two others where we’re willing to spend more when the price is right. These are memorable pours for us and bottles that have earned a special place on our shelf.
For Waylon’s Bourbon Shelf, a higher price needs to come with an experience we actually value. A premium bourbon is worth the extra money to us when we know we’ll be excited to pour it again.

Bourbon Bottles We’re Currently Hunting For
One of the funny things about putting together a list like this is realizing how many bottles we’d love to have another one of.
The Kentucky Series 8 Year is probably at the top of that list. We haven’t been able to get our hands on another bottle in Canada, but it’s one we’re always keeping an eye out for.
We’re also watching for another bottle of Weller 107, 1792 Bottled in Bond and E.H. Taylor Small Batch. Some of these are simply harder to find in Canada, while others are bottles we don’t want to let get too low on the shelf.
And then there’s Four Roses Small Batch. After finally getting our hands on it in the States, we already know it’s likely to make the trip home with us again.
For us, a bourbon worth buying again is often the bottle we find ourselves looking for after it’s gone. These are some of those bottles.

What Do These Bourbons Have in Common?
Interestingly, there's no single bourbon style that dominates this list.
We've got:
Wheated bourbon
Bottled-in-Bond bourbon
Single-barrel bourbon
Small-batch bourbon
Older bourbon
Higher-proof bourbon
More approachable everyday pours
But they all have one thing in common:
We actually want to drink them again.
That's the biggest difference between a bourbon we enjoy reviewing and a bourbon we would actually buy again.
We've tried bottles that were interesting.
We've tried bottles that were impressive.
We've tried bottles that were worth the money once.
But these are the bottles that made us think: "I'd happily have another one of these."

Does a Bourbon Have to Be Expensive to Be Worth Buying Again?
Absolutely not.
One of the biggest things we've learned from tasting bourbon is that price and enjoyment don't always move together.
A $40–$50 bottle can sometimes be more enjoyable than a $100+ bottle.
And a rare bourbon isn't automatically better than something you can find more easily.
That's why this list includes bottles across different price points and styles.
For us, the question isn't: "What's the most expensive bourbon I can buy?"
It's: "Would I actually want another bottle of this?"
That's a much more useful question.
What Bourbon Would We Buy Again?
If we had to narrow this list down to the bottles that immediately come to mind when we think about buying again, Weller Antique 107 would be near the top.
But that doesn't mean it's automatically the right bourbon for everyone.
If you prefer something softer and sweeter, Weller Special Reserve may be more your style.
Prefer classic bourbon character? Eagle Rare or Russell's Reserve are worth exploring.
Want a single-barrel bourbon? Blanton's or Evan Williams Single Barrel are both interesting options.
Looking for Bottled-in-Bond bourbon? E.H. Taylor Small Batch and 1792 Bottled in Bond are two bottles we've enjoyed.
And if you simply want a dependable bottle for the shelf, Four Roses Small Batch is an easy one to reach for.
Current Bourbon Shelf Rotation
At the end of the day, our bourbon shelf isn’t about having the biggest collection just for the sake of having more bottles.
The bottles that matter most to us are the ones that actually get opened.
Some of the bourbons on this list are special bottles that we save for certain occasions. Others are bottles we reach for regularly, keep stocked and happily pour for friends who come over.
That’s really what this list comes down to. We’ve tried plenty of bourbon, and these are the bottles that have stayed with us — whether because they offer great value, have become favourites over time or simply make us want another pour.
We’ll keep trying new bourbon, but we also know we’ll keep coming back to many of these bottles. That’s what makes a bourbon worth buying again to us.

Final Thoughts
After trying a lot of different bourbons, we’ve learned that a bottle being highly rated or heavily hyped doesn’t always mean we’ll want another one.
For us, the bottles on this list are different. These are bourbons we’ve personally tried, enjoyed and would genuinely spend our money on again. Some are bottles we always keep stocked, while others are much harder for us to replace in Canada. Some offer incredible value, while others are worth paying a little more for when we find them at the right price.
That’s really what makes a bourbon worth buying again to us: we actually want another bottle.
Our shelf will keep changing as we try new bourbons, but we know many of these bottles will continue to have a place on it. If you’re looking for bourbon bottles worth buying again, these are the ones we can personally stand behind based on what we’ve actually poured, enjoyed and gone back to.
And as we continue tasting bourbon, this list will inevitably change.
That's part of the fun.
